The money initially spent on these resources is actually an INVESTMENT in the longer-term. YOU will BENEFIT from more effective and targeted marketing strategies and ventures, and you AVOID a lot of wasted effort and low returns.
Although a number of successful strategies are known, you never know WHICH will work best for YOUR product until you've tested it.
In order to evaluate your methods properly, you will need to MEASURE the results and then use these to guide your future 'campaigns'. For example, you may find that banner advertisements don't really work for your product, but carefully placed sales letters do. This helps to identify one successful and fruitful way of marketing your product.
A very SIMPLE way of 'tracking' your efforts is to see how many e-mails you receive from each individual campaign AND whether these e-mails are positive! Don't be afraid to ask people for feedback whilst YOU are 'piloting' YOUR STRATEGIES. Ask about what 'caught their eye' or why they chose to respond. You'll be surprised at how many people do respond, and this information is so VALUABLE.
ALWAYS keep full, detailed records of EACH campaign AND the RESULTS. This will be VERY useful information in the future ... not least for the title of your next e-book!

However, at some stage you WILL need to fork-out cash!
With so many different people vying for your money, decisions on the best way to advertise can be a headache. This is where the advice of experienced marketers really comes into its own. ALWAYS be prepared to do the RESEARCH. Look at the courses ... use the search engines ... ask your friends or colleagues ... see what works for similar products ... take advice, and then SPEND CAREFULLY. It is TOO EASY to part with LARGE sums of money very quickly, from which YOU may gain very little.
